So, who am I?
Well, I'm alot of things.
I'm 53, a wife, mother and a Registered Nurse.
I've been married for 31 years and I have 3 kids all in their early twenties.
I've been a Nurse for 36 years.
In 2001 we had 3 babies under 4. We were busy and broke.
I started to think that there had to be a better way to live than just working to get by. We started learning about investment opportunities.
We saved every penny we had and managed to buy an investment property. We renovated it then went on to build a beautiful 2 story house with 5 bedrooms. We moved into this house and rented the other one out. We loved property so much that we went on to form a property development company and do some subdivisions.
This was back in the day when the banks were lending like crazy and we were all living off our equity. But then in 2008 the GFC happened. Property values dropped and the banks stopped lending.
We held on tight but we were going backwards fast.
Raising a family was costing a fortune. I was nursing, Brett was working as a builder and we were doing the best we could. But it wasn't enough.
We had to sell all but our own home. (those other properties would now be worth millions.) During this time I had also set up my own business running Teleseminars and promoting events. It was before podcasts were big so I ran teleseminars interviewing experts from around the world. These were all about investment strategies, mindset and personal development. I loved it. I would turn the audios into a product to sell while doing joint ventures and affiliate marketing. BUT with the financial strain we were under I wasn't making enough to keep going.
We made the decision to focus on raising our kids, working our jobs and paying down our mortgage.
So What Happened Next.........
Fast forward to today.
I've now got 3 young adult kids who are busy creating their own lives. They are all on their own journeys to create financial security for themselves. But what I'm seeing is how tough it is for them. So many pressures, so much uncertainty.
The quest for financial freedom in that generation is massive. They all want to find that one thing to make them rich. (Who doesn't).The online world is where it's at. But doing what? Who do you listen to and who do you trust? It's a minefield of confusion and leads to a feeling of hopelessness. I've been watching and worrying for them all.
So it's reignited in me a passion for bringing some answers. Finding people who are crushing it and doing what they do. I want to inspire the younger generation to realise that they can make this happen for themselves. I want to bring them hope, knowledge and the belief that if it can happen for someone else then it can happen for them.
And if it can happen for them it can happen for you!!!
